“Demystifying EDI – acronyms and other common terms.”
About EDI
Overview
Electronic Data Integration (EDI) has been around for a long time but with the advent of the internet, and new service offerings related to web based EDI, the benefits of the technology are now within the reach of many more companies.
All too often supply chain practitioners are confronted by a bewildering array of technical terms and jargon when they attempt to explore the options on integrating with their partners and their systems. At SCD we want to remove the gobbledegook wherever we can, so in this section we have put together some common terms and an explanation of how hubs like ours can add value.
Common terms
This section will give you some more information on standards and some of the common terms we all hear bandied around.
Software as a Service (SaaS) EDI Hubs
Messaging and interfacing like the SCD hub are available on a pay as you go basis and facilitate many-to-many connections. This section explains why this is and what benefits this provides to customers.
