About Us

The Company

The Supply Chain Design Company is a privately owned, UK registered company.

The company was founded by Jo Godsmark after years of working in the logistics industry and seeing the gap between what was technically possible in modern day interfacing, and the manual processes actually used by so many 3PLs and their customers and sub-contractors. As well as spending logistics procurement and development at Mars (a role which triggered her interest in messaging between supply chain partners) her expertise and interest in this area was strengthened by the experience of working with a wide range of businesses during her years with Labyrinth Logistics Consulting and developed through working with FirstB2B on the implementation of a range of EDI projects.

Also in the SCD team is Sue Probert, a true expert in International EDI standards and the Lead Editor for the development of the UN/CEFACT Core Component Library among other roles, Sue has a wealth of experience, particularly in EDIFACT and international trade. Sue supports SCD’s upfront analysis and checking of specifications and samples in new projects – a vitally important stage in any implementation.

Technology

The technology platform behind SCD is provided by FirstB2B Limited. FirstB2B was one of the first UK providers to embrace internet based Software as a Service integration and have been providing such services for 12 years. Their support and integration services are accredited to ISO 9001: 2008. Europe’s largest B2B Construction industry hub is powered by FirstB2B and has connected over a thousand partners and is processing millions of transaction messages.
