Overview
Providing business to business (B2B), and system to system, EDI messaging and integration services, together with the associated support services, are the core offerings of SCD. However the technology behind the hub supports several additional services which are directly relevant to the logistics and supply chain environment. Such services enable integration via an exchange hub, such as SCD, to add much more value to your business than a simple one-to-one connection.
The services offered by SCD can be grouped into the following main categories:
Messaging & integration
The core service provided by the SCD hub is the setting up, testing and maintenance of EDI messages between two business partners. The vast majority of messages such as Customer Orders, Transport Orders, Daily Stock Reports, Advanced Shipment Notes (ASNs) etc. that logistics and supply chain partners would wish to exchange are available on a fixed fee, fixed timescale basis. Within this service activities include:
- Translation Services – the conversion between different message standards for different partners
- Look-ups – the mapping of different codes, locations and reference numbers between business partners
Data checks and alerts
The SCD hub can be set up to automatically perform additional functions on the data it is exchanging – to help you manage and control your supply chain. These include:
- Electronic Receipts and Alerts – to give you proof of message receipt at your partner and automatic alerts if critical data is not sent in time
- Data Integrity Checks – automatic verification of key data in your messages
- Web Interface – on line access to all your messages in human readable format
- KPI reports – automatically generated reports across your supplier base from any information that you exchange
